Senior Spotlight: Evelyn Parish Barbara ingram School for the Arts class of 2025

Name: Evelyn Parish

Age: 16

School: I just graduated from Barbara Ingram School for the Arts!

Nick names: Most people call me Evie for short

Alright Evie, let’s talk about your faves

Color: My favorite color is orange and pink but especially when you mix them and make coral.

Tv show: I don’t watch a ton of TV due to my busy schedule, but I made time to watch my favorite show called Dexter. Don’t be alarmed, it looks scary but the storyline is amazing. -I’ve heard this one can be intense but I’m interested!

Book: I’m not a big reader. It’s hard to keep my attention when I’m handed a book. I prefer to be up and active physically.

Subject in school: My absolute favorite subject in school would have to be history, I have always had great history teachers that make the subject even more interesting. I also have taken great interest in statistics and probability. Normally I’m not much into math, but my teacher was a huge help and was able to make me actually love math. That’s great! I’ve found the right fit for student and teacher makes a huge difference with math.

Teacher: I have two this year because Mr. Clinger, my history teacher, and Mrs. Speak, my math teacher were phenomenal and gave very interesting and exciting lessons every class that helped me stay engaged in the course throughout the year.

Pastime: Having such a rigorous schedule throughout the week and most weekends, my favorite pastime would have to be sleeping. I definitely don’t get enough sleep through the week, so whenever I have downtime I am most likely using it to sleep.

Hobbies/extracurriculars: My favorite hobbies would definitely be going to drift events with my family and my boyfriend's family. I also love fishing! With these hobbies I get both thrill and relaxation, which is good for my outgoing but also quiet personality. An extracurricular Evie didn’t list is that she is an AMAZING dancer. That is what she is so busy with!

Top three memories of high school: My top three memories of highschool are my hour long car rides to and from school, shows and performances with the dance department, and graduation!

Clothing item: My all time favorite food is bacon, and I have a shirt I wear pretty much every week that says “I love bacon” on it. Ha ha! I love that!

Lunch spot : My favorite restaurant is definitely Texas Roadhouse

About the future…

You’re done with high school, what is your next move? I will be attending Towson University this upcoming fall semester, majoring in dance and business.

What do you hope to be doing in the next 5 years and where?I would like to transfer my sophomore year of college to Florida State University and major in business.

What’s the number one world issue you would solve if you could? Corruption within education.

What is your dream career (even if it’s just a dream) ? : After college I would like to go to law school and eventually start my own real estate development company.

Just for funsies…

Evie - The Movie: what celebrity should play you? I would love to have Megan Fox play me if I were to have my own movie. because she is so cool, adventurous and pretty. Selfishly I would love to market myself as someone who is similar to her. - I like the way you think and I can see this! Her Or Emelia Clark or Jenna Dewan!

What song will you never forget the lyrics to? “See you again” -Wiz Khalifa

Since you mentioned that song, is it your favorite? “See you again”  is definitely in my top three song list, but my favorite song is “house that built me” - Miranda Lambert

Pretend money ain’t no thang- where are you gonna go on vacation right now? Santorini, Greece. I would love to visit such a beautiful place. Me too! That’s my top choice!

You can only eat one thing for the rest of your life. What’s it gonna be? I would be totally happy if I could only have my grandma's bacon and jelly sandwiches for the rest of my life. -And now I NEED to try one of these…

What is your proudest (maybe not biggest) accomplishment so far: My proudest accomplishment is graduating high school a year early. The motivation and drive that fueled this accomplishment made me grow as a person and made it so much more special than just moving forward in my academic career. That’s really awesome! I wish I had the vision to even think about doing that when I was your age.

Any obscure talents? Most people don’t know, but I actually consider myself pretty good at drawing.

What’s a skill you don’t have but want to learn? I don’t have my 540 flip consistent yet but I’m currently working on it when I get some downtime. I don’t know what kind of flip that is but I would love to see you do it! I am always in awe of dancers and gymnasts doing any kind of a flip!

Don’t miss some of her performance images I’ve captured of Evie and the picture of her from her freshman year at the bottom of the session. And incase you didn’t see the dream come pink dress session we created you can see it RIGHT HERE
